Police corruption was rife.These were the days of top police officers such as Drury and Virgo who were not adverse to 'taking a bung'. The sixties gangster in London was a very different proposition to the gangsters of modern day Britain. I cannot speak for all Mods of the sixties but I know that the so called gangsters of that decade had a huge influence on myself and friends.
